How Are You Cleaning Your Eyeglasses?
We all know that the quickest way to clean your glasses is to grab the bottom of your shirt and rub off excess oil and fingerprints. However, the fibers and debris on your clothing may be too harsh on your lenses and ultimately scratch the lenses over time. Caring for your lenses can be simple and easy. We will discuss two different methods to clean your eyeglasses thoroughly.
Soap and warm water
-
Wash your hands to prevent transferring bacteria from your hands to your glasses.
-
Run your eyeglasses under lukewarm water.
-
Place one drop of dish soap onto the front and back of your lenses.
-
Gently rub the lenses with your fingertips. Don’t forget to wash the nose pads and arms of the glasses!
-
Thoroughly rinse off the soap residue with lukewarm water.
-
Let the glasses air dry or use a microfiber cloth to dab away the remaining water droplets.
Eyeglass cleaner
-
Spray an eyeglass cleaner onto both sides of your lenses.
-
Use a microfiber cloth to wipe the lenses.
Tips
-
Do not use alcohol to clean your eyeglasses as this will damage the lenses and frames.
-
Make sure your eyeglass cleaner is safe for coated lenses.
-
Wash your microfiber cloth regularly to remove built up debris.
