Dr. Karen Wong

Dr. Karen Wong was born and raised in Burke, Virginia and is a part of a large family. She attended Ohio University, where she worked as an optometric assistant for two years and earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology in 2017.

She continued on to earn her doctorate from the Illinois College of Optometry, where she served as Vice President of the Cornea and Contact Lens Society and was an active member of the AOSA.

During her training, Dr. Wong completed several clinical externship rotations in diverse settings, including the Illinois Eye Institute in Chicago, Corporal Michael J. Crescenz VAMC in Philadelphia, and InSight Vision Group in Denver.
Dr. Wong’s externships, along with her first three years in practice at TLC Laser Eye Centers/LasikPlus in Chicago, helped shape her strong professional focus on refractive surgery co-management, primary care, and ocular surface disease.

Dr. Wong is fluent in Cantonese and can conduct eye examinations in Spanish.

Outside of work, she enjoys cooking, traveling, and spending time with her husband, Tyler, and their two fur children, Ozzie and Penelope.
